Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the area, bringing wind gusts reaching 109 kilometers per hour.

Locals observed large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities verified that various areas across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Rescue organizations received over five hundred requests for assistance across the region, mostly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.
