19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging season, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-term coach Cervara.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface after March of that year.

Success also means the Russian has secured 21 championships at 21 various events.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," commented tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.

His retrieving play style and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was finished.

But the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serve.

He fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players traded break points in the second set before Moutet, striving for his first ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

The opponent rescued four early-game break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, Medvedev secured the win with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
