It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the record chasers, are all that remain for a side that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batters to hold a record if not provided the possibility.

In the end, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to produce her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her bow and seven international trophies have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the reasoning behind final game tension. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was considerably tougher to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this performance came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in training, it was a disappointing period because it seemed I've had no rhythm whatsoever," stated Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive nature take over and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the opening delivery and after that the right-hander was underway.

"An opportunity to go out there and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was out the team required another 66 at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the assurance to do that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

That comment will be the last rival teams at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this victory coming after victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wished she had played with the discomfort.

But while she later admitted those injuries have delayed consideration of ending her career, this tournament is expected to be her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a global event as skipper.

Success in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
